Privacy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chocolate Alchemy, LLC, doing business as Chocolate Alchemy (we, us, or our), handles personal information for the How to Make Chocolate at Home course website, purchases, and customer support. It does not cover our separate Chocolate Alchemy store or mailing list.

This policy takes effect upon publication.

Information used for the course

When you enroll or create an account, we collect the contact and account information you provide, such as your name and email address. Checkout may also collect billing address and other information needed to complete your payment.

We receive records of your purchase, payment status, and any refunds. If you contact us, we receive your message and the information you include in it.

Kajabi and the services used to deliver the website, videos, and checkout may also record technical and usage information, such as browser and device information, cookie identifiers, and activity within the course.

How we use information

We use this information to process your purchase, create and manage your course access, deliver the videos, send purchase and account messages, answer questions, investigate access problems, handle refunds, and keep required business records. Technical information also helps operate and protect the website and payment services.

Information needed to complete payment and provide course access is necessary to fulfil your purchase. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to complete enrollment or provide access.

Kajabi and payment processing

Kajabi hosts the course website and manages customer accounts, course access, and platform email delivery.

Payments are processed through Kajabi Payments, which uses Stripe's payment-processing infrastructure. Payment details are supplied through the checkout and handled by the payment providers. Do not send your full card number, security code, or password to us by email.

Personal information is handled by Kajabi, its service providers, and the payment providers as needed to deliver these services. Customer-support correspondence is also handled through the email service used for our support inbox. These providers may use infrastructure outside the country where you live.

We may disclose information when required by law or where necessary to investigate fraud, address a security issue, or resolve a payment dispute.

Email communications

We use your email address for messages about your purchase, account, course access, and support requests.

Signing up for marketing emails is separate from purchasing the course. If you choose to receive course marketing emails, you can unsubscribe through the link in those emails. Unsubscribing from marketing does not cancel your purchase.

Cookies and website activity

The course website uses Kajabi's built-in cookies and related technologies to support features such as login sessions, checkout, and website operation. Platform services may also collect usage information.

We have not added Google Analytics or Meta Pixel to this course site.

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may prevent parts of the course website or checkout from working.

Keeping information

We keep account information as needed to provide your course access, support correspondence as needed to address your questions, and transaction records as needed for accounting, tax, legal obligations, and payment disputes. The type of information, ongoing course access, and applicable recordkeeping requirements determine how long it is retained.

Your choices and requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, or request deletion of your personal information, restrict or object to certain uses, or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. You may also have a right to complain to your local privacy authority.

Send requests to support@howtomakechocolateathome.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records may need to be kept to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Deleting information needed for your account may affect your course access; contact us to discuss what a request would involve.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if the course site's data practices change. Any additional notice or consent required by applicable law will be provided.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Chocolate Alchemy at support@howtomakechocolateathome.com.
